What is MSSA?
The MSSA was designed and by created by fellow Media Studies students in Spring 2024 to support the major and fellow peers during their time at UC Berkeley. We noticed a gap in the resources offered to Media Studies from the university, and wanted toprovide both a space and the tools for Media Studies students to thrive and succeed within the major. We offer opportunities for students to explore, create, and gain hands-on experience in media, marketing, and communication. MSSA empowers Media Studies students by offering professional development, career-building opportunities, and a strong sense of community. Through networking events, industry workshops, mentorship, and collaborative projects, we help students prepare for diverse career paths in media, marketing, journalism, public relations, and beyond. More than just a club, MSSA is where creativity meets career readiness — a space for connection, growth, and innovation.
